Shire Choir FAQ

What will the music be like? We will sing songs that are harmony-rich, yet accessible to folks of all singing levels (rounds, layer songs, call and response, 2-4 part harmony.) We will sing songs for the season and songs for the social tides of the moment. Heidi will share mostly original songs, as well as some by her songweaving friends, and the occasional old traditional song.

What if I have to miss a week? The intention is for this to be a cumulative experience where we build on the songs we learn each week, but it's okay if you can't make it every time, drop-ins are welcome.  If you know of people who are thinking of dropping in but aren't signed up please encourage them to register so we can be in touch in case of weather cancellations etc.

Health Stuff? Please stay home if you are symptomatic, Heidi will send out practice recordings so you can stay up to date with the singing! Thanks for helping us keep one another healthy.  Masks are optional but always welcome.

All Ages? This is a choir for all folks who are excited to sing together! Kids are welcome to join in the singing or play quietly around the edges, some laughing, exuberant cooing, etc is fine. Parents/caretakers please be mindful of distractions and bring kids to an adjoining room to play if  it becomes hard for singers to hear one another.  Thanks!
